एचआरटीसी में रीढ़ की हड्डी व निगम को नई दिशा देने बाले महिमन चंदर शर्मा सेवानिवृत्त हो गए हैं। शनिवार को उनकी सेवानिवृति पर निगम कुल्लू ने एक भव्य आयोजन किया और इस आयोजन में उन्हें सम्मानित भी किया। इस अवसर पर निगम के डीडीएम डीके नारंग,पूर्व आरएम मंगल मानेपा,केलांग के आरएम सहित निगम के सभी कर्मचारी व अधिकारी मौजूद रहे।
महिमन चंदर के जीवन की यात्रा
महिमन के जीवन की यात्रा 11 अप्रैल 1965 को शुरू हुई जब उन्होंने स्वर्गीय विपिन चंदर के परिवार में जन्म लिया। विपिन चंदर और अत्या शर्मा, मूल रूप से लडभरोल, तहसील जोगिंदरनगर, जिला मंडी के मूल निवासी हैं। लेकिन कुल्लू में बस गए। 10-10-1970 को कियानी (तिस्सा), जिला चंबा में एक दुर्घटना में महिमन चंदर ने अचानक अपने पिता को खो दिया, जब वह सिर्फ 5 साल के थे। उनके साथ उनकी दो छोटी बहनों मीनाक्षी और कल्पना की जिम्मेदारी रही । अत्या शर्मा, उनकी मां, दूरस्थ ग्राम निहारी, तहसील करसोग जिले में ग्राम सेविका के रूप में शामिल हुईं। मंडी जहां उन्होंने अपनी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा कक्षा 7वीं तक अपनी छोटी बहनों के साथ की। फिर परिवार वापस कुल्लू चला गया और कुल्लू में ही अपना जीवन यापन करने लगा। कुल्लू से हायर सेकेंडरी पार्ट II की परीक्षा पूरी करने के बाद वह डिग्री कॉलेज कुल्लू में प्रवेश कर गए। अपने स्कूल और कॉलेज के दिनों में उन्होंने विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं, खेलों और अन्य सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में भी अपने शिक्षा संस्थानों का प्रतिनिधित्व किया।
पारिवारिक परिस्थितियों के बीच उन्हें अपनी पढ़ाई बीच में छोड़नी पड़ी और आई.टी.आई. शमशी जहां उन्होंने रिकॉर्ड 99.9 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त कर स्टेनोग्राफी का कोर्स सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया। उक्त पाठ्यक्रम के पूरा होने के बाद वह अपनी शिक्षा पूरी करने के लिए फिर से जीडीसी कुल्लू चले गए।
उन्हें सहायक प्रबंधक, एचआरटीसी, सरकाघाट के कार्यालय में स्टेनो टाइपिस्ट के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया और 30-12-1985 को ज्वाइन किया। उन्होंने सरकाघाट में 2 साल 4 महीने और 2 दिन की अवधि के लिए सेवा की और कुल्लू इकाई में उनके स्थानांतरण के बाद 4-4-1988 को कुल्लू इकाई में शामिल हुए। अपनी पूरी सेवा अवधि के दौरान उन्होंने क्रमशः सरकाघाट, कुल्लू, नाहन, शिमला, लाहौल और स्पीति, मंडल कार्यालय, मंडी में सेवा की। उन्होंने एक वर्ष की अवधि के लिए क्षेत्रीय परिवहन अधिकारी, कुल्लू के कार्यालय में द्वितीय आधार पर नियुक्ति के दौरान परिवहन विभाग में भी कार्य किया। एचआरटीसी में अपनी सेवा के दौरान तमाम उतार-चढ़ाव से गुजरने के बाद, अब वह 29 अप्रैल, 2023 को एचआरटीसी कुल्लू इकाई से 58 वर्ष की सेवानिवृत्ति की आयु प्राप्त करने के बाद अपनी सेवाओं से सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं।
1998 में नीलम शर्मा के साथ परिणय सूत्र में बंधे
उन्होंने नीलम शर्मा से 1998 में शादी कर ली जो एक हाउस वाइफ हैं। उनके दो बच्चे एडवोकेट उस्मन शर्मा और सुकृति शर्मा हैं।
हालांकि,महिमन चंदर ने क्षेत्रीय प्रबंधक के पीए, उप के पीए के रूप में विभाग की सेवा की। मंडल प्रबंधक, पीए से मंडल प्रबंधक तक, लेकिन उन्होंने समयबद्ध तरीके से उन्हें दिए गए विभिन्न कार्यों को निष्पादित करके हर विभाग में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन किया है।
अपने साथी कर्मचारियों को चरणबद्ध तरीके से प्रशिक्षित भी किया
इतना ही नहीं उन्होंने अपने साथी कर्मचारियों को चरणबद्ध तरीके से प्रशिक्षित भी किया चाहे वह क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय में कम्प्यूटरीकरण की शुरुआत का आधिकारिक कार्य हो।
विभाग के राजस्व सृजन के लिए भी कार्य किया
उपरोक्त के अतिरिक्त उन्होंने समय-समय पर विभिन्न निजी टूर आपरेटरों से सम्पर्क स्थापित कर विभाग के राजस्व सृजन के लिए भी कार्य किया। स्थानीय स्तर पर प्रशासन जिसने एचआरटीसी को दैनिक कार्यों के परेशानी मुक्त निष्पादन के लिए मदद की। उनके फलदायी प्रयासों से एचआरटीसी मनाली, पतलीकुलह और मणिकर्ण में बस स्टैंड के निर्माण के लिए भूमि डायवर्जन के मामलों का प्रबंधन हो सका। जबकि अन्य पाइप लाइन में हैं। कुल्लू के सरवरी में आधुनिक बस स्टैंड, कुल्लू सेंट्रल
का निर्माण उनके प्रयासों का जीवंत स्मारक है।
महिमन चंदर एक बहुमुखी व्यक्तित्व
महिमन चंदर एक बहुमुखी व्यक्तित्व भी हैं, जो अपने समर्पण के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं, एक प्रसिद्ध सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता, खिलाड़ी, शिक्षाविद और एक सफल संघ नेता भी हैं।
इंटक के राज्य अध्यक्ष हैं महिमन
अपने निरंतर प्रयासों, समर्पण और पूरे हिमाचल प्रदेश में कर्मचारियों / श्रमिकों के बीच लोकप्रियता के साथ आज वह इंटक के राज्य अध्यक्ष के रूप में उनका प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहे हैं और पूरे हिमाचल प्रदेश में उनके कारण के लिए सफलतापूर्वक लड़ रहे हैं। उन्होंने बहुत लगन, ईमानदारी और गतिशील रूप से एचआरटीसी की सेवा की।

The journey of life of Mahiman Chander started on 11th April, 1965 when he took birth in the family of late Sh. Vipin Chander and Smt Atya Sharma, basically native of Ladbharol, Tehsil Jogindernagar, Distt. Mandi, but settled at Kullu. Suddenly Mahiman Chander lost his father in an accident at Kiyani (Tissa), Distt Chamba on 10-10-1970 when he was just 5 yrs old . He is having responsibility of his two younger sisters (Ms Meenakshi and Ms Kalpna) with him.
Then Smt. Atya Sharma, his mother, joined as Gram Sewika at the remotest Village Nihari, Tehsil Karsog Distt. Mandi where he had his early education till class 7th with his younger sisters. Then the family moved back to Kullu and started their lively hood at Kullu itself. After completing Higher Secondary Part II examination from Kullu he went to Govt. Degree College Kullu. During his school and college days he represented his educations institutions in various competitions, sports and other cultural programs too.
Amidst family circumstances he had to left his studies in between and had to move to I.T.I. Shamshi where he successfully completed the course of Stenography by scoring record 99.9 percent marks. After completion of the said course he again moved to GDC Kullu to complete his education.
He got appointed as Steno Typist in the office of Assistant Manager, HRTC, Sarkaghat and joined as such on 30-12-1985. He served at Sarkaghat for a period of 2 yrs 4 months and 2 days and after his transfer to Kullu unit joined Kullu unit on 4-4-1988. During his entire service period he served at Sarkaghat, Kullu, Nahan, Shimla, Lahaul & Spiti, Divisional Office, Mandi respectively. He also served the Transport Department during his placement on secondment basis in the office of Regional Transport Officer, Kullu for the period of one year. After going through all the thick and thins during his service in the HRTC, now he is retiring from his services after attaining the age of superannuation i.e. 58 years from HRTC Kullu unit on 29th April,2023.
He Got Married to Smt. Neelam Sharma During April, 1998 who is a house wife. He is blessed with two kids Advocate Ushman Sharma and Ms Sukriti Sharma.
Though ,Sh. Mahiman Chander served the department as PA to Regional Manager, PA to Dy. Divisional Manager, PA to Divisional Manager , but he has given outstanding performance in every department by executing different assignments given to him in a time bound manner. Not only this he also trained his fellow workers step by step whether its official work of introduction of computerization in the Regional Office. Besides above he also worked for the revenue generation for the Department by making a liaison with different private tour operators from time to time. He also kept good liaison with Distt. Administration at local level which helped HRTC for the trouble free execution of day to day works. With his fruitful efforts the HRTC could manage land diversion cases for the construction of bus stand at Manali, Patlikulh and Manikarn respectively while others are in pipe line. The construction of modern Bus Stand, Kullu Central ,at Sarwari, Kullu is one the live monument of his efforts.
Sh. Mahiman Chander is a versatile personality too, well known for his dedication, is a renowned social activist, sportsman, educationist and a successful Union leader too. With his continuous efforts, dedication and popularity among the Employees/Workers in all over Himachal Pradesh today he is representing them as State President of INTUC and successfully fighting for their cause in all over Himachal Pradesh..
He served the HRTC very diligently, honestly and dynamically . We wish him healthy and prosperous life ahead and all the best for his future endeavors
